Calm, Cool and Collected
Yes, I'm still around. Still feeling rather calm about this whole race thing. Actually, I'm not thinking too much about it right now. I've got contractors in the house peeling wallpaper off the walls, chimney sweeps cleaning up the chimney, I'm trying to find someone to deliver some wood for the season and I'm planning my Thanksgiving dinner as I'll be hosting it this year.
I'm way too busy to be thinking about some stinking little race. The most I think about it right now is when I head out for my runs. Yesterday I ran 8 miles in the Parkway and this morning I headed out for an easy 5 out to Dorney Park and back. I'm working on staying relaxed and positive and maintaining a healthy diet. Later today I'm heading out to the thrift shop to find a throw away top for the race.
I haven't even been stalking the weather. How about that?! Granted, I look outside on some days and think to myself that I don't want to go outside to run but once I'm out there it is actually much more comfortable than I'm expecting it to be. 48° on the thermometer with winds feels cold at first but I warm up so fast and soon I'm down to just a t-shirt. I thought it might be raining this morning (which it wasn't) and figured I'd run in the rain regardless. I mean, it's not like I have a choice on race day, unless of course I opt to not run in the rain, but who's going to do that? Not me. Might as well get use to it.

You seem serene. ;)
